Cock & Bottle Southowram
 
This month’s Star at the Bar is Kailey McConnell who has worked Part-Time behind the bar at the Cock and Bottle, Southowram, Halifax, since its reopening in October 2010. When not working in the pub the 28 year-old is a healthcare assistant. Her hobbies include swimming and socialising with partner Karl Healey.  The Cock and Bottle reopened as a free house after extensive refurbishment creating a warm and welcoming hostelry which quickly became a credit to the village. Various real ales are available and Sky TV, including 3D, show all sports.

Savile Arms, Thornhill, Dewsbury
 
This month’s Star at the Bar is popular barmaid Sarah Jane Moore who has dispensed traditional handpulled beer at the historic Savile Arms, Thornhill, Dewsbury, for the past year.  Sarah has recently gained a law degree from Newcastle University and is currently studying to become a solicitor.  She lists netball, socialising and reading as her hobbies.  The Savile Arms, known locally as the Church House, is one of only three pubs in the country built on consecrated ground.

The Union Cross Halifax
 
The appropriately named Nicola Brewer is this month’s Star at the Bar.Nineteen-year-old Nicola has worked at the Union Cross in Halifax for the last four months and when she’s not working behind the bar she works at Barbarella’s Nightclub. Her ultimate ambition is to join the Police Force. The Union Cross is Halifax’s oldest pub but it has a very modern outlook driven by landlady Gerry Robertson. Good food, good entertainment and good real ales help to make it one of the town’s most popular pubs.

The Red Rooster Brighouse
 
This month’s Star at the Bar is attractive Debbie Yendley who works behind the bar at the Red Rooster, Brookfoot, Brighouse. Debbie is well trained for bar work as she works as a fitness instructer. She enjoys dining out and socialising. The Red Rooster is one of the area’s premiere real ale houses and recently held a very successful Beer Festival.

Armitage Bridge Cricket Club
 
T his month’s Star at the Bar is Laura who works behind the bar at Armitage Bridge Cricket Club.

The young lady lists her hobbies as horse riding, all types of music and socialising with friends. Armitage Bridge play in the Cedar Court Conference 1 Section of the Drakes Huddersfield Cricket league and

there is always a warm welcome for new visitors and spectators on match days. A range of drinks is available including the recent addition of a hand pulled real ale.

The Shears Inn Paris Gates Halifax
 
This month’s Star at the Bar is pretty Kate Knowd who is a parttime barmaid at the Saville Arms, Mirfield. She enjoys live music especially rock music including Led Zeppelin and also socialising. The Saville Arms recently reopened after a total refurbishment and now holds a Tuesday quiz night and Karaoke on Friday evening as well as Sunday from 5pm.

The Shears Inn Paris Gates Halifax
 
This month’s Star at the Bar is popular barman Jim Fitton who has worked behind the bar at the Shears Inn, Paris Gates, Halifax, for more than six years.  Fifty-seven-year-old Jim is married to Susan and they have both become experts on the Far East - Scarborough, Bridlington, Filey and Whitby! The Shears is something of a hidden gem situated as it is deep in the Hebble valley behind the huge former Holdsworth mill complex. It serves fine food and quality real ale.

The Union Cross Halifax
 
This month’s Star at the Bar is attractive Micheala Foster who has worked behind the bar of the award winning Union Cross Inn, Halifax, for the last three months.  Twenty-five-year-old Micheala is single but has a five-year-old son Kian who takes up much of her spare time howver, she enjoys walking her dog, socialising and night-clubbing.  The Union Cross, the area’s longest-established pub, offers good home-cooked food, popular entertainment and quality real ales.
Sam Smith

Sportsman Huddersfield
 
This month’s Star at the Bar is Samantha (Sam) Smith the popular landlady of the Sportsman, Huddersfield. Sam has been at the pub since it reopened some seven months ago but was previously a manager for Sam Smith’s Old Hall in Heckmondwike.

Since it opened as a real ale pub, The Sportsman has become a big favourite with discerning drinkers across the region.

Sam has had a lot to do with it as well!

november's Star at the Bar was

Sue Greenwood from Milan’s wine bar in Halifax. Sue is from Luddendenfoot and enjoys rock and heavy metal music, reading crime fiction and socialising with friends. Milan’s serves Mavis’ superb homemade food and has a series of tribute acts lined up for the festive season. Call 01422 330539 for details.

The Drop Inn Elland
 
Septembers Star at the Bar is Lizzie Turner who works Full Time behind the bar at the Drop Elland.
The 21 year old admits to being bubbly, enthusiastic and very dizzy.
"She loves to shop and claims she has a bit of and addiction but her main passion is music and she loves to go to live events.  Millie is also a fully qualified Beauty therapist and one days hopes to own her own salon.
The Drop is a popular Ossett Brewery owned pub serving great ales in a friendly environment.

Slubbers Arms Huddersfield

 
This month’s Star at the Bar is attractive 47-year-old Diane Kirk who has been a popular member of staff at the Slubbers Arms, Huddersfield, for seven months.
Diane, who has four children, three boys and a girl, recently married Bob and claims that her aim in life is to pull the prefect pint. She’s certainly working at the right place to achieve that aim with the Timothy Taylor range and various guest beers available on the bar.
The “Slubbers” has improved no end since being taken over by new managers who have added an extra room and extended the beer garden to include a new outdoor bar.

This week’s Innspeak Star at the Bar is busty barmaid Stacie Payne who has worked behind the bar at the Drop Inn, Elland Lane, Elland, for almost two years.
Twenty-nine-year-old Stacie is single and works full-time at KPC?Book Protection during the day but has just got back from a week in the sun.
She is (not surprisingly) very popular with all the customers at this small Ossett Brewery pub and says her aim is to win the lottery and buy a cow sanctuary.
The Drop Inn serves a range of real ales from the Ossett Brewery portfolio supplemented with a number of real beers from other small independent brewers.
